In August/September of 2007, I spent a month in India with four residents and a medical student from Case Western Reserve University. There were a couple of reasons I organized this trip. First of all, I am interested in developing collaborations with institutions and organizations in India to fight the HIV epidemic there. Since I was going to be there anyway for that purpose, I figured that I could take a small group of trainees with me to Hyderabad for a supervised global health experience. It was truly memorable. We kept a blog. It was so successful, in fact, that I am going to put together another trip this fall. This time we go to Pondicherry.
